A Coat Drive for the Homeless These extra coats or sweaters will keep them warm during these cold winter days. At times homeless people have to live in the woods, along the river, under a bridge, or spend freezing nights huddling against the back of buildings trying to stay warm. Many are ill-equipped to weather the cold and freezing temperatures during winter. FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN make up a growing number of the homeless as people continue to lose their homes during a financial crisis. Winter illnesses and frostbite during especially cold weather take their toll on a population who many times are homeless through no fault of their own. Participating in the Coat Drive is an easy way for you and your family to pass along coats, jackets you no longer need while helping those most vulnerable to winter condition. A collection box is at the Heber City Police Department 301 South Main Street in Heber City. There were two caring teenage girls, Camari Lou Murdock & Lexi Balderston who brought their creative idea to our administration and we totally loved it. They even made a beautiful Christmas Box to place in our department for all the donations.
