A FATHER AND DAUGHTER DENIED BUT TIME IS RUNNING OUT What would you do if you found out that you were going to be a father to a baby you would never get to meet, or hold, or even see – not even in a picture? In the fall of 2013, Trent found out he was going to have a daughter – not from the mother of the baby, but from a friend of hers, who also told him that the mother had deliberately hidden her pregnancy so she could place the baby for adoption without him ever knowing. After many attempts to contact the baby’s mother resulted in her changing her phone number and hiding from him, he knew he would have to fight for his natural and Constitutional rights to be a part of his daughter’s life. So instead of happy congratulations and anticipation of a new member of the family, he found himself registering with the putative father registry, filing for paternity and custody with the county courthouse in Arkansas. He obtained counsel as he began the process of doing what he had to do in order to take responsibility for and form a connection to his child. He did everything he was supposed to do under the law to establish himself as his baby’s father. Then something went terribly wrong. His attorney discovered who the prospective adoptive parents were and promptly dropped out of the case. The next attorney he contacted did the same, and a trend began in his efforts to obtain counsel, with each one who backed out citing a conflict of interest. It was then that he learned the identity of adopting party – the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the county of _____. He was subsequently served with a motion to dismiss his claim for paternity. Because every attorney he contacted was apparently intimidated by the prospect of going up against a colleague, he had to fight this motion in court without any representation whatsoever. He was successful in that the judge did not dismiss his case. His paternity case has now been consolidated with the adoption hearing. The paperwork he has been provided shows the adopting party is arguing they have more rights to his baby girl merely because they make more money than he does. To lose his child because of this would be a terrible injustice. Not only does Trent have a right to know and raise the child he created, but his little girl has a fundamental right to grow up in the loving care of her father, to know and have a relationship with her siblings. BUT TIME IS RUNNING OUT! Trent’s efforts to locate an attorney have used up valuable time and resources. He has received his final extension on the case from the court. It is act now or father and daughter will lose each other forever. Finally, he has been successful in locating an attorney who is willing to help in the fight against the deputy prosecuting attorney in the courthouse in which she works. The fight for Trent to take responsibility for and raise his own daughter is at a very critical point. He can no longer go about this struggle on his own. We are graciously asking for help. you can help by donating even a dollar , you have all seen every dollar helps !! Please donate here : https://squareup/market/fathers-angels/contest
