A Few of us attended tonights Candidates night sponsored by WEC & The Willits Grange. The Candidates were asked if they supported the use of MCOG funds to support the completion of phase 2 of the bypass. Virtually all the candidates were against using MCOG funds with the exception of Larry Stranske who stated that he thought the state was going to demand payment from the MCOG to recoup the costs resulting from project delays. A young man asked if the candidates would support the construction of a walking & biking path under the bypass. That one was a little funny as most stated that the impacts on the wetlands would prevent such use even if the state would allow that use of state land. Robin Leler stated she was in favor of the walking or Biking path through the wetlands. I say good luck with that one robin.
