A French citizen has appealed to the media and police officials to make arrangements to enable him to meet his Indian wife in Kalimpong who has not been keeping well since the past week or so. Not a single driver from Siliguri was ready to take Michael Fages and his mother Marinel to Kalimpong where his ailing wife Christina Lepcha lives. According to Michael, he received a call from Christina and learning about her illness, had rushed to India accompanied by his mother. The mother-son duo boarded a flight from Paris on Monday evening and arrived at Bagdogra airport this afternoon via Delhi. Upon his arrival, Michael requested the Bagdogra police to make arrangements for the two to reach 8 Mile in Kalimpong, but officers at the station reportedly asked him to take help from the Kalimpong police. Michael and Christina married four years ago and the latter lives with their three-year-old son Mathew in Kalimpong. She is worried about her husband and mother-in-law as they barely know about the current situation in the Hills. When contacted over telephone, Christina said, “I am worried for them, please help them reach Kalimpong. I am ill since the past week.” She added her husband contacted her and informed he had booked a room at a hotel in Siliguri.
