A Giant Leap Into 2014 - ACKNOWLEDGE GRACE NOT LUCK More often - TopicsExpress

A Giant Leap Into 2014 - ACKNOWLEDGE GRACE NOT LUCK More often than not we tend to get too pompous with the little God allows life to bless us with like beauty, rich family, good schools, influential circle of friends, intelligence etc. that we do not give due reverence and acknowledgement to the man behind it all, God. We must come to the point where we do not wallow in enjoyment over the things God blesses us with and forget to tell others about His grace and favour. When we receive some good things or news we say, woow thank God I am a lucky man. But I have a simple question, WHO TOLD YOU YOU ARE LUCKY? My friend if it has to do with luck then you life could have bern used for lottery and sports betting. It is by grace that we are who we are and have the things that we have. I feel very emotional today because of two very sad and disheartening scenes I saw today. As I was driving to town this morning on the spintex road, I looked out of the window and what my eyes saw nearly got me crying, even now that Im typing this. Here walking along the roadside near Coastal estate was this rather short young guy carrying a bundle of wood that looked to be weighing him down and he was looking very tired, wretched, dirty and tattered. The traffic had caught us so I had enough time to keep watching this young man only to realise that the young man was one of my old time friends I used to worship with at Pentecost. This guy was intelligent and very active in church as well. He and I used to win prizes for doing soo well in church. Actually he and I were baptized together on the same day in 2004. He was baptised just before me and I saw him come out of the water speaking in tongues all of a sudden and that kindled a desire in me to also speak in tongues although it took me some months to open up myself and allow God to speak through me. He and I had a lot in common and we were quite close until I moved from Pentecost to ICGC and we couldnt stay in touch. The long and short of it all is that his life now looks like it is in shambles. And most of us would simply say, oh I am lucky oooo. My friend you are not lucky, it is the grace of God that has made you so. As I was coming back I saw another man who stayed in my neighbourhood sometime back and used to play with us when I was in upper primary till JHS3. The unfortunate thing is this man had become a drunk and is mad now walking in town talking to angels. Infact my heart skipped a beat. I nearly cried again. What a day? My friends it is not because I am lucky that is why I am sane and not going through what these two people are going through. It has just been by the unfailing and unmerrited GRACE of God upon my life and your life. We could have been in that situation cuz really who are we to be enjoying the good things of life and for God to care about us? Let us begin to acknowledge and appreciate Gods grace upon our life and stop calling it luck. Luck is Lottery abd your life is not for gamble. Acknowledge the grace of God and I believe God will shower more grace upon your life in 2014.
