A Gift To Be Shared I can feel the warmth of the sun As it comes over the horizon There are several birds chirping in the background My meditative state I have found Today I have found a quiet stillness Not plagued with wants, cravings, or mental illness God and I are here together I am enjoying His presence and a peace without measure Working the steps as best as I can Has granted immense freedom to this man It has afforded me a relationship with my Creator A closeness now and face to face in the here after I have no more guilt or shame It was not others but myself to blame I’ve opened my heart and shared my past I have found peace and freedom at last I’ve shared with God and man my defects of character Those who remain will offer friendship far greater I accept who I am today I pray God allows me to help another find their way
