A Gilmore City bank was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday afternoon. Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger says that the Humboldt County Dispatch Center was notified of a bank robbery at Bank Iowa at 1:53 pm Wednesday. The suspect entered the bank demanding money and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun. The suspect later fled the bank with an undetermined amount of money. The “possible suspect vehicle” is described as a teal/green Chrysler Town and Country minivan. The van left Gilmore City southbound on Humboldt County Road P19 to the first gravel road. It then headed west into Pocahontas County. The van entered several ditches and corn fields as it fled. Vehicle tracks lead deputies to the Lizard Lake area in Pocahontas County. The suspect is described as possible a five-foot six-inch female with dark hair. The suspect was wearing a red New York Yankees hat, a red handkerchief bandana that was covering the face, a red long sleeve t-shirt with a black baggy shirt over it, baggy blue jeans and dark tennis shoes with white soles. Kruger asks anyone with information to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at 515-332-2471. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Humboldt Police Department, Humboldt County Attorney’s Office, Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, Pocahontas Police Department, Fonda Police Department, Laurens Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Webster County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation.
