A Good Night Thought: General Douglas MacArthur once said, Nobody - TopicsExpress

A Good Night Thought: General Douglas MacArthur once said, Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years. People grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up interest wrinkles the soul! Worry, doubt, self-distrusts, fear (anxiety), and despair... These are the long, long years that bow the head andd turn the growing spirit back to dust! Proverbs 29:18 puts it this way, Where there is no vision (purpose) the people perish (fail). You are as young as your faith (what you believe), as old as your doubt! Live in the expectancy that with God... ALL things are possible! See yourself as optimistic, full of hope, creative and teachable! Fight negativity, cynicism, grumbling, fault finding, excuse making and living with regrets! Most people die from the neck up at age twenty-five because the stop dreaming! I thought of the people who scolded me for still performing Power Feats at 55... I had just wrapped up speaking withe Steve Carrier in 10 schools to 5,000 kids with nightly church events over four nights. Was I sore? Yes! Was I exhausted? Yes but it was not any more sore or exhausted than when I was thirty! No, No, No! So respectfully I say to my critics, Take a Hike! I am effective (Nearly 300 gave their lives to Jesus), trained, respected and having the time of my life!!! Choose to stay young in your mind and heart! Be like Caleb who faced taking his Promise Land saying, I am as strong and capable at eighty as I was when I was forty!
