A Grand and Glorious time is what we had this weekend! Saturday nights Birthday Bash at Critters Bar was so much fun with family, friends! Many of our old friends showed up as did many new people! It was an unbelievable affair! When Georgiane and I arrived to set up the tables with decorations Stephanie and Linda were so helpful to us. As soon as we were arranging tables, Tom showed up and began setting up his kit and sound system. Once he was done I began getting the keyboard, amps and guitar set up. Then back to table decorations. On one table was a huge cake and balloons brought by our dear friend, Susie Q. , who would show up later with a friend. That Cake was so big, so tasty, as I would later discover. After we had things in hand, Gary and Joel came in and set up their gear and we were well on our way to show time. In came wave after wave of people, Georgianes sisters, Sharon and Patty, their husbands, George and Roger. Nola and Michelle, and many of Georgianes childhood friends, Mike Heberle, Not to mention, Dee and Beth, our beloved Mojo-ettes! In the back I Todd and later his sweet wife Amanda, old friends from our days at Earls Tavern. Who else? a fellow named Brian, who had once sold autographed photos of me on Ebay how or why he did it remains a mystery. The bigger mystery was who paid for photos of an obscure bloke like me??? it was a laugh to relive it! Ben and Sue Phillips were there dancing with us, they had even brought his mom. We had our great friend Paul Zanderholm and Lee. Not to mention, a friend who has proved to be absolutely wonderful and shared a Birthday with us, Terry Schmidt. Thank you for the cards and flowers! It was so kind of you. We also received cards from Jan Harris and her great husband Tim! They always bring so much warmth and goodness to our shows. We had Fred Chrastil and Helen Faust in the crowd, they were blown away with the music! I met so many people that night (thanks Mick Fleetwood) The music was stellar, the laughter uproarious, the emotion palpable, the friendship, the hugs, the feeling was high! Our birthdays were made complete and Mojo Filter kicked off its 19th year in fine fashion!!!!!!!!! The original Mojo drummer,Steve joined us on stage for several songs, he almost stole he show with his version of Little Sister. A real night of it, Tom Brogan our current drummer tore it up on his solo song, The Ballad of John and Yoko two drummers singing on one night, what is the world coming to????? We ended our night with Paul Z. Lee, Tom and Steve, Georgiane and I having a late night breakfast at the Village Inn. Off to bed at 4am and sleep...oh yes and Downton Abbey Sunday night! Need I ask for more???????
