~ A HORRIFING NEW SOURCE OF ENERGY? ~ I can’t wait to have the kind of diseased single-payer health care nightmare ObamaCare’s con-artist architects dream of pushing us into. If you think the Affordable Care Act is bad, wait until you serve a total State that directly controls health care itself, in a nation the size of the United States. One of the many problems with single-payer health care is that no large government can be trusted to swiftly investigate itself, or hold itself strictly accountable for violations of principle. The human race should have learned by now: there are no large, honest, transparent governments. The bigger the State, the lest honest and transparent it becomes. Big governments also become less compassionate, although they advertise themselves as the very incarnations of compassion. It is an article of left-wing faith that government has a monopoly on caring; if you don’t support compulsory taxpayer spending on some issue, you don’t really “care” about it. In reality, as the State grows, it finds individual people increasingly inconvenient. Flush with the righteousness imparted by its supporters’ belief in the absolute moral superiority of government action, the party of Big Government becomes quite brisk about slapping inconvenient people aside. Just look at how Democrats have been treating the people who come forward with ObamaCare horror stories. That sort of thing will get a lot worse if Americans are foolish enough to let government seize total power over health care, following the pre-planned collapse of ObamaCare. (It was supposed to chug along for the better part of a decade before falling apart under its inherent flaws and paving the way for a single-payer socialist takeover, not blow up on the launch pad.) I present those points in advance before relating a story from the UK Telegraph that might make it difficult for the reader to process broad arguments of principle. Here’s a glimpse into the future socialized medicine advocates have in mind for us: The bodies of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies were incinerated as clinical waste, with some even used to heat hospitals, an investigation has found. Ten NHS trusts have admitted burning fetal remains alongside other rubbish while two others used the bodies in ‘waste-to-energy’ plants which generate power for heat. Last night the Department of Health issued an instant ban on the practice which health minister Dr Dan Poulter branded totally unacceptable. At least 15,500 fetal remains were incinerated by 27 NHS trusts over the last two years alone
