A HUGE thank you to all who stepped up to help with all of our recent medical emergencies. We are thrilled to have hit our goal, but because the hits just keep coming, we spent over $8000 on just Penelopes pneumonia and Daisys shattered pelvis and broken leg. There are also new medical cases who were not part of this fundraiser. Many have asked for updates and since there are so many, please see below. Kira who was hit by a car yesterday is an example of a new dog not part of this fundraiser. TY PENELOPE: went home yesterday after a week in the vet fighting pneumonia. Her immune system is very weak due to being emaciated & recently having had a litter. She was still lactating when she arrived at ACC. LON: went to his new home after being treated for being HW+, ear infections, kennel cough and hypothryroidism ENZO: is being treated w physical therapy after xrays showed nothing wrong w his back legs. He is starting to walk! Yay SCARLETT: continues to get stronger; her belly is still big and her back legs weak, but both xrays and ultrasound showed nothing to be fixed. LADY: will have surgery Monday morning to fix her urethra. We are desperately seeking a new home for her as she has nowhere to go & we are not letting her end up at ACC! CARLA: is also in hew new home, getting stronger every day. She is still emaciated and that will take time. She also has happy tail, hence the cone. PERDITA: remains in a GA vet being treated for her mange and a nasty bacterial infection. She cannot leave the vet until the bleeding stops. She had been self mutilating at the shelter as she was so stressed. LILLY/SHEENA: is in GA foster getting stronger. Shes only 16lbs and was too weak to stand or walk. Shell be coming up north soon. DAISY: had a 4 hour surgery to repair a pelvis shattered in 5 places and a broken leg. She is ready to leave vet & looking for her forever home. She is an amazing dog, good w kids, cats, dogs. Everyone adores her! KIRA: sharpei puppy hit by car late yesterday, remains at ER vet.
