A Happy Birthday to Steve Perry - Lead vocalist of Journey from 1978 to 1997, he released nine albums including Trial By Fire, which went Platinum in 1996. He released solo work, like the #3 song Sherrie. When he was twelve, he heard Sam Cookes song Cupid, which inspired him to become a singer. He played drums on his high school marching band. He was one of the twenty-one vocalists who sang We Are the World, in 1985. Jon Bon Jovi dubbed him The Voice. His father was vocalist and KNGS radio station owner Ray Perry. Both Perry and celebrated soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo are of Portuguese descent.
