A Heads Up! Work will start on the seawall at the Downriggers/Spring Street Landing site Monday morning. This is the first step in getting things rebuilt and is a separate permit from the building because of in the water work. This needs to be done by Feb. 15 due to state and federal guidelines on forage fish spawning. Also, some of this needs to be done at low tide which happens at night this time of year so work will be going on around the clock on some days. Be prepared for some noise and congestion. We will make every effort to avoid busy weekends but some impact on local businesses and lives will be inevitable. Work will be done by Carlson Construction who won the contract (low bid out of three by an easy margin). As soon as the seawall is done, construction on the buildings can start. Itll be nice to start moving on this project and in a year, I hope any hassles will be a fading memory. Ill see if I can get Port staff to post information and pictures on the Ports face book page and Port website. It may not happen instantly but cut em some slack because things have been pretty hectic behind the scenes.
