A Kenosha woman was injured when she and another person were struck by a car while walking east across Washington Road at 39th Avenue on Friday night. The victim, was transported to a local hospital following the 7:01 p.m. accident, according to a Kenosha Police Department traffic report. Her condition was not known. She and a man who was walking with her were struck by a Silver 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Helen A. Sapieka, of Kenosha, according to the report. Sapieka was traveling east on Washington Road and stopped to turn left when the accident occurred. She told police she didn’t see the pedestrians until they were just in front of her vehicle. Authorities at the scene determined she had a broken jaw.
