A LETTER FROM JOANNE SMITH (Delta-speak deciphered in [brackets]) Last week we [the Delta executives] celebrated the news of 2015 pay increases [which are below industry average, keeping you at below industry average while giving the intentionally false impression that we care while discouraging card signing] and an advance payment on our 2014 profit sharing [which will not only lighten our 2014 tax burden but also decrease the kitty for profit-sharing next year with all the other employee groups, leaving more for us.] The overwhelming majority of feedback [from our anti-union sycophants, the only feedback we acknowledge] to these announcements has been outstanding (just as it should be – it was a great week at Delta!) [We saved more money riding the backs of the flight attendants group, in more than one meaning of the term] As I step into my new [higher-compensated, contracted] role, and as Allison returns home to In-Flight Service where she began her career [and has now ass-kissed and who-knows-what-else her way to the top of the division], I wanted to share some final thoughts as I reflect on the past seven and a half years [and then I won’t have to talk to the sorry lot of you again, as I will have entered the inner circle of union busting]. I came to In-Flight just as we exited bankruptcy [They decided a marketing person was a better fit to market the deception of convincing you that you are better off without union representation. After all, what is good for the goose (you, you silly goose!) is good for the gander (us, taking a gander at all the money-raking opportunities we can). You’re the goose that laid the golden bonus egg!] To see how far we’ve come since that time is incredible [yea, we dodged two union votes, even though we had to use our political clout in hanging up the FAA Reauthorization Bill until the NMB agreed to find in our favor on the last one.] Our amazing[ly naïve and gullible] IFS team of flight attendants, leaders and professionals from across the division (ops and planning, onboard services, field support, training and more) has worked incredibly hard to make Delta the best it can be for our customers and each other [“each other “means each of the other senior executives plus shareholders, the ranks of which I have now back-stabbed and deceived my way into]. Our deep-rooted and time-tested culture of working collaboratively together [see: “each other “above] and remaining loyal and true to the qualities that are the hallmark of Delta’s brand [of deception] and core values of our Rules of the Road[which apply only to you, not us] – respect, honesty, integrity, perseverance and servant leadership [you’re the servants, we’re the leadership, just compare paychecks with us if you need any evidence of that]– is the reason we’re at the top of the industry by just about every measurement[that we alone choose to use]. Of course there’ll always be more to do [fire more pro-union peeps with no viable recourse, we’ve only skinned the cat, we haven’t gutted it yet] and we’ll never be totally satisfied with where we are [MORE, MORE, MORE!] (a hunger for continued innovation is another of Delta’s attributes and core to our IFS DNA) [innovating ways of making more and keeping more is our core DNA, btw, sorry you non-unionized zombie schmucks, it has to come from somewhere, may as well be you] but we absolutely have the right culture to keep us moving and always climbing higher. [A fear-driven culture of deceit and subordination to our monolithic authority of selfish greed] You should feel confident that Allison is energized [monetarily compensated according to the terms of her contract] to continue the incredible momentum we’ve built together [we’ve trained her well to take over] and her creativity, forward thinking and attention to detail will push IFS to new heights.[of money-making for us] [Sincerely Yours (is mine) Cruella Deville (aka Joanne Smith) ] youtube/watch?v=qmaBi7FABxE
