A LETTER TO FRCN Dear FRCN, i know a letter is not written this - TopicsExpress

A LETTER TO FRCN Dear FRCN, i know a letter is not written this way especially being formal as it is, but i am a young man that break rules and re-make them, so please permit me. I grew up in Calabar south, Cross River State in a house of radio lovers. Yes my father was a radio lover but i turned out to be a radio addict(and i am proud of that), not the binge drinking kind of addict or whatever. When i grew up, i used to hear of Canaan City Fm but sincerely i never for once listened to it, why? It never existed. I used to listen to Paradise FM (CRBC) owned by the state. So i heard that You(FRCN) have decided to bring the Canaan City F.M to Cross River State and it is going to be in IKOM. Ah! Let me confess, i would love to work for you especially the virgin start but for the point being that it is in Ikom, i wont like to. Not that i dont like Ikom, i do. My wife is from there and i love their dark skins and her especially. Im afraid of Ikom, especially when it comes to festive periods. Let me not digress. Back to business. Eh eh, You see, CRBC is smart o. I believe you know. If you didnt, im shocked, but know now that in IKOM, there is a CRBC station with a very different dial. Are you surprise? No, you should not. I know you want to make funds out of this establishment but you wont make that funds by just establishing. You need people, both staffs and listeners, especially listeners. I repeat LISTENERS. Well, with my pessimistic mind, you wont make it. In my optimistic mind, you will soar through. In my realistic mind, it wont be easy. Take which you may, as for me, i am a Realist. So i take the realistic stand; it wont be easy. CRBC is hot and fierce and funky and Hip Hop, sorry to say, you are not that always, at times you are sha (im honest) and the listeners are tuned to that tone. Even the old, dance to it. The last time i checked, DCAs are hardly known as programme OAPs are (you dont expect me to mention names, do you?) in CRBC and that falls it in the category of entertainment radio. Most times, i wonder how the make money, adverts? I doubt. All the ads i hear are highly political and the ruling government which in common sense, own the station. Back to track please. So, i listened to your daughters and they are trying, i must say. Atlantic, Pacesetter, Treasure, etc. Cool daughters that knows formalities. Unfortunately, listeners hardly need that now; they want to dance. I want you to succeed, for you are the mother hope that breeds me to this growth. But yet again, will you forgo the lots of your relatives (programmes) though intelligent, that bore? Sincerely, i wish you the best but the road wont be easy. Yours Adorable Ekemini Joseph.
