A MESSAGE TO THE KNOWLEDGE CONVENTION ON Forebearance Woke up on the wrong side of the bed? Don’t worry. God has a plan for your day. Facing a rough patch at work? Take a breath. Your future is bright. Money’s a bit tight? Relax. God’s going to prosper you. Youve heard these things before. Indeed the very author of your salvation also has a completed path and glory in store for you. But I can understand the overwhelming affliction many of us are forced to endure. Doubt can oft times over shadow us all... even the most proved and the most seasoned of our kind. Our faith can at times be an after glow of all the pain in this present time. It may seem to you, mentally paralyzing and emotionally benumbing. Sickness, financial hardship, social rejection, hunger, friends and family issues, death, pain and suffering on a scale many cant understand. None by GOD himself, that is. We may at times become so defeated by our misfortune, that we retreat to our tears. Our agony, the only comfort. But I say PRAY; retreat to GOD. scream and cry out to him if you feel the notion. A lot of the time, this is precisely what he wants from you. CALL HIM! By the sacrifice of Christ, we who are in Christ may approach him boldly and with confidence. Hebrews 4:16 - Let us then approach Gods throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Feeling discontent and distress? Misery, torment... feeling as though there is nowhere else to turn? GOD has an answer: Psalm 55:22 - Cast your cares on YAHWEH and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Today you are unbroken. Today youve managed to overcome. But then you think... what about next week? Tomorrow even... Our Master tells us Matthew 6:24, Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. He also says in Matthew 6:27, Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? While the obvious answer to this question is a resounding NO, Id like to point you to a couple other points of scripture that may make you smile. Psalm 68:19 says, Praise be to the LORD, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Daily... not every once in a while. Not once per year. DAILY. But dont dismiss speaking to him about what ails you, 1 Peter 5:7 - Cast ALL your anxiety on him because he cares for you. I dont want to ramble. Because I can go all day with this. For those of you who know me personally, you also know I have suffered more pain in a few short years than I care to in an entire lifetime. But there is one verse in the text that bring me joy beyond all my trouble: Romans 8:18 - For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Not only will the coming glory of the saints be incomparably wonderful... but it will be incomprehensibly glorious! Hang on... THE KING IS COMING... -TPSF
