Once it was discovered to have an intense sweet taste with no caloric count, manufacturing companies jumped on the profit potential. -Splenda can actually encourage blood sugar disorders, which is extremely alarming considering its own claims to reduce diabetic symptoms. -Conventionally considered heat stable, a number of independent reports have proven the instability of the synthetic compound in sucralose, finding it undergoes extreme degradation when heated and will produce well known toxins. -Even more alarming is research that suggests this chemical additive can have lasting impacts on the environment. Although it dissolves easily in liquid, sucralose can survive water purification treatments and is accumulating in large concentrations in our water system.
