Prisoners (2013) Plot: When his daughter and her friend go missing, Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) decides he must take matters into his own hands as Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) and the police pursue multiple leads but come no closer to finding the missing girls. Review: I found this movie to be extremely deep and full of intense drama throughout. I did have to watch it in 2 parts the length of the film, at 2 and a half hours, was quite much to keep up with, in that mood. Theres loads of twists and turns throughout the movie which keeps it interesting, and the acting from all of the cast was great. The director should have shown some more of the other family that is also going through hell and the ending was left up to the audience to put together, which was a bit weird after getting drawn into the families trauma. The storyline is very well put together and it really does make the audience feel that they are going through the situation with the characters. In all its a great watch but its quite long. Watchable! Round-Up: Hugh Jackman really does show a different side to his usual acting style. If it wasnt for his in depth performance, this movie wouldnt have been half as good. All of the other characters also bring reality to the film which makes the intensity throughout the movie a great watch. Although the film is quite long, I dont think that I would take anything out of the movie. It does flow well and the director really did cover every aspect of a bad situation that every is going through. I dont think that I would have gone with that type of ending, but in all, its entertaining and enjoyable. Budget: $46million Worldwide Gross: $123million I recommend this movie to people who are into there deep dramas and kidnap and murder. 7/10
