Today would have been my Mums 70th birthday. She was a curly red-haired, brightly coloured (clothing wise), well dressed, ditzy lady (and I say that affectionately!). She loved her friends and family, her church, cooking good food, keeping her house tidy and shopping for handbags, shoes and clothes :) She squealed and laughed when Bill used to pinch her bum on the stairs - I can still hear her exclaiming Wil-LIAM! (dramatically increasing in pitch in the second syllable) hahaha. She loved singing Dragon songs (which I liked) and listening to awful operatic music (which I REALLY didnt) ;) She watched Days of Our Lives every day and secretly shopped on TVSN when nobody else was around. She told us repeatedly (with a hint of a smile) that we do not fart in this house - we Break Wind. The worst swear word she used was Damn. I once told her she was just like Hyacinth Bucket in the TV show Keeping Up Appearances (very much in looks and quite alarmingly sometimes (well, a lot of the time I think) in personality - eek!) but I told her it was in a good way LOL - poor Mum! She laughed a lot and worried about everyone and everything ALL the time. She cried when she watched the news and saw all those things that she could do nothing to help. She drove us all crazy with her religion, trying to get us to join her, but she meant well. Shes been gone for six years now and boy do I have a lot of things to say to her! I wish I could have said all these things at her funeral but I was stunned with shock that she had gone, we all were. So Im saying this all today. Mum, you drove me crazy, but I love you very much and miss you, you ditzy, crazy, lovely woman! LOL xoxoxox
