Want to wish all my friends from Newcastle way all the very best for the 5th Coast to Coast. Im missing it for the first time and Im gutted I wont be there through the blood, sweat, tears & laughter. I hope the heat dies down for you guys & girls. The challenge is a mix of cycling across some of the toughest terrain in England (check out Hardknott Pass which is a 20 degree category 1 climb), over a mile open water swimming across Derwant Lake along with a double marathon and a single marathon to finish off on day 4. All money raised is for CHUF (Childrens Heart Unit Fund - Freeman Hospital) and to date we have raised around £350k (seb4chuf.org.uk) which has fully funded the building of a new play area for the heart kids.
