A MUST-READ TESTIMONY FROM TEENS CHURCH ~ CHRIST EMBASSY LAGOS ZONE 5 My Name is John Okorie. I am happy and bold to say that I am a product of Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo. I came in contact with TeeVo in October 2012 when Christ Embassy teenagers visited my school with copies of TeeVo; after the distribution they established a fellowship called “TeeVo Club” in the school. I was amazed to see a teenager like me reading the Word of God from TeeVo and explaining things from the book. I was ashamed of myself because I couldnt read or write well and I was in SSS 2 at that time. When one of the teenagers came to me to give me the book during the distribution in my school, I called him in confidence and asked if I could tell him something; tears came rolling down my cheeks when I told him I didn’t know what to do with the book because I couldn’t read or write like they could. He asked me if I was born again and I said yes; he also asked me if I could speak in tongues and I said no. Then he said he would get me filled with the Holy Ghost, which he did. I spoke in tongues for the first time in my life that day. I asked him how I would read and write; he smiled at me and said, “The Holy Spirit lives in you now; you can do all things.” Then he opened a copy of TeeVo and we read together. When I got home that night, I wanted to read my TeeVo but I was afraid and in doubt. I suddenly pulled up courage, picked my copy and opened to a page where Pastor Chris said, “The wisdom of God is at work in you and you can do all things”; it was as though he was talking to me. The next day when I got to school, we had English lessons and the teacher asked us to open a page in our textbook and requested that anyone should volunteer to read aloud to the class; I stood up and said to myself, “Pastor Chris said the wisdom of God is at work in me, I can do all things.” When I came out, the students were laughing at me; even the teacher. He asked me, “John, what do you want to do?” I said,” I want to read.” He asked, “Read what?” And I answered, “I want to read the passage you asked us to open to.” I read with boldness without any mistake. My teacher and classmates were surprised at what happened but the teacher could not hold it! He went to the staff room and called me to read in the presence of other teachers. Some of the teachers were surprised. Two weeks after, I watched a movie about “Spelling Bee” (a spelling competition); I went to my principal and told her to please give me the opportunity to start it in my school but she said she didn’t have time to waste on such things. I was not discouraged, so I went ahead with it with some other students who were interested. My principal heard about the first competition we had amongst ourselves in school. I did very well in spellings and my English teacher was present to testify to my principal. A letter was sent to my school from the Ministry of Education inviting the school for a Spelling Bee competition. Some students were selected but I was not among, because nobody believed in me but my English teacher insisted that my principal allow me join the others. She was reluctant because she wasn’t convinced but she later agreed because of my teacher’s persistence. Out of the four people that went for the competition from my school, I was the best. This made our school win the competition. In February 2013, I went to England to represent my school and that was how I started travelling outside Nigeria representing my school and now I received a scholarship to school in England. Praise God; I am a testimony!
