A Malaysia court ruled that non-Muslims cannot refer to their god as, Allah. Malaysia accommodates multiple minority religions, such as Christianity- Islam is the majority faith. In 2009, a court ruling said non-Muslims could use the word Allah to refer to their God. Afterwards, many mosques and churches were destroyed. The name came from Arabic langauge which entered Malay langauge. Some Muslims believe that Chrisitans use the word Allah to encourage conversion to their faith. bbc/news/world-asia-24516181
