A Message From Jon Grace and Peace to Each and All! On this Martin Luther King Day, I found my thoughts going to the true freedom and equality we have because of the King of Kings and what He did for us That Day on the Cross of Calvary. For because of the Cross and by the power of the Blood, (1) We have been set free from the penalty of sin (justification!)... (2) We are being set free from the power of sin (sanctification!)... (3) We will one day be set free from the very presence of sin (glorification!). And as we all make our way to The Cross of Calvary day by day, we find ourselves arm-in-arm in unity, harmony, humility and hope whatever our background, age, race or nationality might be. Ah, because of the King of Kings we truly say Free at last, free at last, thank God Im free at last! And thats not just a Dream! With Thanksgiving to The King, Jon (P.S. The photo above is me with my two oh-so-lovely granddaughters!) Daily Devotional January 20 And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house. Mark 3:19 Would you have chosen Judas? More importantly, would you have called him ‘Friend’ even as he betrayed you? (Matthew 26:50). Yet with the exception of Judas, Jesus’ disciples became men who did indeed turn the world upside down because of His Spirit within them. This means that when Jesus chose you and me, He knew we would also be changed and eventually impact the world both now and eternally. He chose us not because of who we are, but because of who He sees we can be. When I make choices, sometimes they’re good; sometimes they’re bad. Why? Because my knowledge is limited. God, however, has no limitations on what He knows. If my knowledge was limitless like God’s, I would buy a lottery ticket. Because I would know exactly which numbers to choose, it wouldn’t be gambling, but a wise investment. So too, God picks winners. You might feel like a loser. You might even be called a loser by those around you. But the fact that you were chosen by God, Who sees the big picture, means you are a winner. We need to realize that everyone who names the Name of Jesus — regardless of her personality, or of the doctrines he may embrace — is a winner because they have been chosen by Him. And we need to treat each other accordingly.
