A Miami federal judge today dismissed a civil racketeering and malpractice lawsuit that has been bitterly litigated by the Miccosukee tribe against its former lawyers. U.S. District Judge Marcia Cooke dismissed the lawsuit against all parties, including former U.S. Attorneys Guy Lewis and Dexter Lehtinen, who represented the tribe under former chairman Billy Cypress. The suit also was dismissed against Lewis’ law partner, Michael Tein, and Cypress.
