A Million Ways to Die in the West was fun, overall a good time. Its most effective when director/co-writer Seth MacFarlane is onscreen working his own material. Sarah Silverman/Giovanni Ribisi storyline is consistently funny, cameos will please the crowd, and there are copious bodily fluids/fart jokes for the younger set. On the down side, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, & Neil Patrick Harris seem out of place and the film drags when theyre on camera. Id like to have seen more sight gags...and several running jokes could have been explored further. Biggest negative: slow paced editing, as if they were afraid the film would be too short if they cut the long pauses (especially in the first act), and too many writers taking the film in different directions. Changes in tone seemed awkward. Mel Brooks/Monty Python its not, but an entertaining way to spend a couple of hours.
