PSL Cant Afford Yobo - Agent In the wake of a declaration by an associate of former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo that the defender will not make a January transfer move to South Africa, the same representative, Chiedozie Nwabueze has now explained that such a move would not be possible because no club in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) can afford the veteran player. Barely 24 hours after first denying reports about Yobo making a move to play in South Africa’s Absa-sponsored league, Nwabueze has moved quickly to state categorically that it simply because the most capped Nigerian international ever has outgrown the wage bill of any club in Africa. While attesting that his comments will end speculation that the former Everton of England and Fenerbahce of Turkey defender is on the way to South Africa, Yobos representative says there is no chance of any club in South Africa being able to afford his fees. Its ridiculous to hear that. Name one South African club that can be able to afford his wages? The story is not true and I wonder where they got it from. Yobo is not happy with the story because its 100 percent false. He never discussed anything like that with any club in South Africa or anybody else; neither did he intend to buy a house in South Africa with the view of settling down there. What does he want to do with the said house? Its true he wants to end his career on a high but definitely not in South Africa. After all, how much are they ready to offer him? It would have been better for him to play for a second division club in Turkey than play for a first division club in South Africa or come back home to play for Sharks for free as well as manage his business in Lagos and Abuja, Nwabueze told SL10 website.
