“A Night To Celebrate…” On a night when Hall of Famers past and present were in attendance, the Springboro Panthers put on a show that was worthy of a celebration of every kind. Boro played well defensively and meshed well together offensively, combining their efforts in an impressive way to take a 69-51 victory over visiting Lebanon in GWOC South play. The Panthers took the lead from the very beginning and never looked back. Senior Bryce Crosen dominated underneath by scoring one important basket after another en route to a game-high performance of 21 points. Along the perimeter, Boro got outstanding play from guards Drew Holweger (15 points), Alec Holtrey (11 points) and Nick Cross (10) points. Not only did the three do any excellent job of scoring, but they also effectively managed Lebanon’s tenacious defense. The victory lifted Springboro to a 6-9 overall record and a 3-2 in the GWOC South, keeping the Panthers in the hunt for a conference championship. With past members of the Athletic Hall of Fame watching from the stands, Boro welcomed its four 2015 inductees to the Hall – Mike Bacher, Chuck Ghysels, Blaine Kincaid and Troy Holtrey. The Panthers host Troy on Tuesday night.
