A PERSONAL DIARY . . . on a Sunday afternoon, October 27, 2013. The CPME aspirants are now taking the exam on Philippine Business, the last of the 5 categories they have to hurdle. This morning was on Marketing Strategy, relatively patterned after STRAMA in the Business Graduate Schools/. Yesterday, the 3 exams of 3 hours each were Marketing Research, Marketing Management, and Marketing Communications. Unlike the CPM exams, in here, are more of BUSINESS APPLICATIONs and IMPLICATIONs of current events where the ASPIRANTS carry different hats as professors, as consultants, and as future ASEAN TEACHERS who will eventually be prepared for exportation, courtesy of the Asia Marketing Federation of which the Philippine Marketing Association is a member. This is a ... VISION this is a MISSION of both the Philippine Marketing Association and the Association of Marketing Educators! And in behalf of the PMA Board 2013 led by President CPM Vince Reyes and the CPM/CPME Committee chaired by Sir Edwin Mapanao, we CONGRATULATE the Association of Marketing Educators-Philippines for taking the CHALLENGE of partnering with the PMA. It took us 3 years to OPERATIONALIZE . . . Now, and this is a personal comment, some other theoreticians can no longer claim our Filipino marketing educators are just THEORETICAL FRAMEWORKERS. They are even beyond CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORKERS! After 3 years, AME, under the leadership of President-Professor Daniel Hebron of New Era University, together with Colegio San Agustin Professor Ron Untivero as AME DIRECTOR in charge of CPME, joined hands with us, our ADVOCACY of further raising the standards for a Filipino marketing educator. In behalf of current PMA President CPM Vince Reyes and CPM Chair Edwin Mapanao, may I thank PMA Events Coordinator Rose Santos Concepcion joining me here at the AME Office conducting the exams for 2 straight days and night -- and last weekend reviewing the teacher aspirants by PMA CPM MAVERICKS: Professors Benison Cu of DLSU-Manila, Agora Awardee for Education; CPM Chair Edwin Mapanao himself, Agora Awardee for Marketing Management and AVP, UNAHCO, Former PMA President Dr. Nick Fontanilla, author of CPME-Philippines, President of ACRE, or the Asia Pacific Centre for Research, and yours truly representing FEU MAKATI as Professor-Lecturer and CEO/CSO of GlobERA, an Engagement Marketing, Research, and Advertising Communications Company joining the TEAM of CPM-Asia Pacific Reviewers. Together with the Senior Reviewers for this CPME EXAMS were CPMs-Philippines as our Associate Reviewers -- Former PMA President Gwenn Albarracin, current Vice President of the Asia Marketing Federation, CEO, Center for POP Philippines; and PMA Board Sec. Gwenn Galvez, Marketing Manager of Anvil Publications. But of course, we have also the TEAM OF EXAMINERS, not necessarily reviewers, and not publicly identified to protect INTEGRITY of checking of papers. All are CPMs, with a reasonable number of them as Graduate Professors. FOR THE RECORD TO SERVE AS OUR LEGACY FOR THE ENVISIONED MARKETING INSTITUTE OF THE PHILIPPINES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status Update By Leonardo Garcia So back to where I started. Today, WE ARE CONDUCTING THE TRIED AND TESTED CPME EXAMS. First CPME Ron Untivero, now a REVIEWER/MENTOR for RMF: Registred Marketing Professional, a professional Board Exam for fresh graduates of Marketing affiliated with JAPI. On its 2nd year, the average passing score ranged from 20-30 per cent of marketing graduates taking the exam. The passers are given first priority in the JAPI member corporate companies. Once they gain 5 years of experience, they go to PMA and take CPM-Philippines to further professionalize them And once they dream higher and wish to become EXPATs: GO FOR CPM-ASIA! On the other hand, we are not about to reveal how many are taking the CPME exams for confidentiality. But once they pass, they join us PMAers in a special HALIGI AWARDS conferring the honors to this special batch of CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL MARKETING EDUCATOR-Phil.
