A PLEA FOR MY FOSTER BLU. Blu, (Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue, Inc.) is looking for a sanctuary that has an opening and that is willing to accept him. Blu is a 12 year old brown neutered declawed special needs tabby. Blu has a hyperthyroid issue which he takes medication for twice a day like a champ in his wet food. Blu’s thyroid issue isn’t his only issue, he has a tendency to grab on and bite randomly and he has just started having some spraying issues (he still uses the litter box) – due to what we think are territorial boundaries, As he lives in a multiple cat home with other fosters and permanent residents. He will be seeing the vet this coming Wednesday Nov 6, to see if it could be something else. Blu was abused and left behind by his previous owners outside to fend for himself for over a year until myself and came to his rescue and took him in. I have been working with him daily since March 2014 to deal with his fear and grabbing and biting issues. Blu still flinches and remains fearful around most people and will lash out and grab a hold of your hand and latch on. Blu is looking to live out the rest of his days being extremely happy in a great environment where he will be loved and understood versus being adopted, returned, taken to a kill shelter or euthanized. Blu deserves a 2nd chance at a great life. Blu is strictly an indoor cat but he does love being outside and he would if he was allowed. However because he is declawed and outside neighborhoods are dangerous he is not allowed out, he would do well in an outside enclosed area. NOT ALL is bad about Blu. Blu does have some really good things going for him. He can be a very sweet boy, he will lay with you, he will rub up against you, head but you, follow you around, let you pet him occasionally, he will talk to you, when he is hungry he will let you know but not in a nuisance way and he’s good with other cats. I don’t know about dogs. I wouldn’t recommend him being around little kids at all. If there are any sanctuaries that would be willing to open their door for him. I know Blu, myself and Purrfect Angels Cat Rescue would be overjoyed for him so that he can have the life he deserves. Blu is located in Southern New Jersey about 20 minutes from Philadelphia and 40 minutes from Atlantic City NJ.
