Just when think Jeff Colley is done . He comes up with another piece of history . This Griswald Skillet # 14 has been cooking for at least 70 years . Its 14 inches across the bottom , & 3 inches deep . I saw the cast Iron post so thought I would add this . Its been used in deer camps , fish frys , Had chili poured in it & cornbread mix poured over the chili & cooked . Dad kept it for years at the shop on summer & during the winter months when the boat business was slow they cooked on a big hotplate everyday . We once had a 3 burner apt. stove & he could set it over all burners at same time , Its fried enough rabbits & country sausage that could feed a Army . I have only seen 2 bigger skillets , One was used everyday at Dyers on clevland & Dad had one bigger with 3 legs that you could put short pipes on & cook over coals . Loaned it out & never got it back . I have big fat hands to give you an idea of the size , we don;t get it out unless we;re cooking big time . Last year we fried corn in it for the freezer . Anyone that can go on this long must be crazy , at least my kids think so !!!!!!!!!!
