A Pastor was entertained on one occasion in the home of a wealthy oil man in Texas. After dinner,the man took him up to the roof of his house and indicated huge fields of oil derricks,and saud “PASTOR,THAT‘S ALL MINE,I CAME TO THIS COUNTRY TWENTY#FIVE YEARS AGO PENNILESS,AND NOW I OWN EVERYTHUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN SEE IN THAT DIRECTION“ Then he turned to the opposite direction and pointed to fields of grain and said “IT‘SALL MINE,I OWN EVERYTHING AS FAR AS YOU CAN SEE IN THAT DIRECTION“ Then he turned to the east and pointed to huge herds of cattle and said “IT‘S ALL MINE,EVERYTHING AS FARAS YOU CAN SEE IN THAT DIRECTION IS MINE“ One final time he turned towardsthe west and pointed to a great virgin forest,and said again “IT‘S ALL MINE,TWENTY#FIV E YEARSAGO,I WAS PENNILESS,BUTI WORKED HARD AND SAVED AND TODAY I OWN EVERYTHING AS FAR AS YOU CAN SEE IN THIS DIRECTION,THAT DIRECTION,THAT DIRECTION,AND THIS DIRECTION“ He paused fo the expected praise but to his astonishment it didn‘t come. The pastor laid a handlovingly on his sholder,pointed UPWARD and said “MY FRIEND,HOW MUCH DO YOU OWN IN THAT DIRECTION?“ The man dropped his head in shame and said “I NEVER THOUGHR OF THAT“ My dear friend,why not re-evaluate your gaols and objectives and make heavenly riches your priority(Matthe w 6:19-21). Death is sure coming someday-nobody lives forever. It is wisdom to lay up your treasures in heaven where there is no depreciation of properties ormoney or robbery...FINALLY,alwa ys ask yourself...“HOW MUCH DO I OWN IN THAT DIRECTION(upwar d)“ You don‘t have to like or comment,but THINK!!!
