A Preacher and his son In a small town down the road, a certain evangelist was in the habit of leaving his small hut with his only son for the shearing of christianly tracts. One day he prepared his tracts for the next morning’s service and at about 09:30am, heaven began to cry (rain fall). When it was about 09:55hrs, the son asked his Evangelist father “Hi Dad, aren’t we going to shear tracks today”? Dad replied, “Son, it is raining heavily and it is cold out there. Even the tracks will get wet”. The son requested, “Daddy, would you mind if I go alone”? Daddy replied “Son if you want to go alone I won’t stop you”. So his son left under the rain. The little boy sheared all his tracks but one. And when he came to a door where he intend to drop the very last track, he knocked at the door not knowing who to expect and left, after few munities without response , he repeated same trice and on the third time an old woman came out looking high above the boy, she enquired. “Who knocked on my door”? The little boy replied Mum it’s me. My dad sent me to give you this track and he say I should tell you he loves you. Please do read it and you will never remain the same again. The old woman took it and bided the boy farewell as the little boy set out to for home yet under the rain. The next Sabbath, when the preacher father asked for testimonies, an old woman walked straight to the Alter and testified that she was knotting a rope to commit suicide when the boy’s knock came. So her testimony was that if not for the boy she would have taken her own life that day. (Reason) She had lost virtually every person that meant anything and everythin to her, husband, all her children but one. And she lost her last child just a day before. And as usual with the envirinment, no one visited her during this period of loneliness. So she concluded that life is useless if lived alone. The preacher father wept bitterly. And when asked what was the problem he replied. “I ought to have gone with my son but for the fear of rain I didn’t go. This soul would have been lost if not for the insistence of my son.” The old woman replied with words of encouragement saying. You have done yours by allowing your only son out there at that time and under the rain all alone by himself. You wouldn’t have done more. In the same way God allowed his only son to come into this terrible world to save you and I from committing Spiritual and physical suicide. If only you accept that offer he sends to you through his only son Jesus Christ you will be saved. Accept Jesus today and you will be sure of one thing, Life at last. Eternity.
