A Punjabi Qawaali sung by Ustad Rahat Ali Khan ........ student and nephew of Ustad Nusrat Ali Khan is presented after having been edited in to a short musical piece of 3 minutes 49 seconds. Enjoy its very deep philosophical insight in to God and all and any thing about God. I feel it is important for me to inform friends from western world not conversant with Asian music that this musical form is called qawwali and is one of the most popular formats of singing in the Indian subcontinent. Qawwali received international exposure through the work of the late Pakistani singer Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Qawwalis tend to begin gently and build steadily to a very high energy level in order to induce hypnotic states in both its singers as well as its listeners. A normal session of qawaali can go on from 15 minutes to an hour plus. The essence of all that is sung in this format is essentially philosophical truths.
