A REFLECTION FROM THE DEAN Dear Friends, By canon law, - TopicsExpress

A REFLECTION FROM THE DEAN Dear Friends, By canon law, every congregation in The Episcopal Church must hold an annual meeting to elect members to its governing board and to hear about the mission and ministry of the parish. During this Jubilee Year, as we celebrate the completion of the Cathedrals restoration, there are many challenges and opportunities ahead of us. How will our renewed space be used? What possibilities for opening the Cathedral to the neighborhood exist? Where will we find the volunteers to help staff our new gift shop that is now in the narthex? I am extremely excited about sharing the Gospel with those who enter our doors, but we must all join in the effort. Our staff is very lean, and we can use your time and talent to help in many ways. When the new Cathedral Chapter is elected at the end of the month, there will be opportunities to serve in a number of different ways. I hope that you might consider some of the many committees and ministries that we have, and offer to help out. We will have some significant financial issues to deal with in the coming year, and I am grateful that so many of you have made a commitment to pledge to Trinity in support of our operations and mission. I encourage any of you who have not pledged to consider doing so. Being a part of this community of faith is more than showing up on Sunday morning. It is holding up the Cathedral in prayer, looking for ways to serve, valuing our mission of inclusion, compassion, healing and challenge. I look forward to sharing my vision for the coming year with you at the Annual Meeting on January 26. And hope that you will be there to participate in this ministry that we share in this place. See you in church, Doug McCaleb The Very Reverend Douglas Wm McCaleb Dean
