A REJOINDER TO DAPO AJANLEKOKO AND OTHERS Disagreed for - TopicsExpress

A REJOINDER TO DAPO AJANLEKOKO AND OTHERS Disagreed for the very second time I would comment on a wonderful piece written by a highly shrewd, astute, determined young brother, if not father. Despite disagreement, you still earn my enormous respect come rain and shine including Adeyinka and others. You are all loaded sirs! Inability to talk whenever it is necessary is a sign of bad luck. It is better to say the truth and be rejected than to withold it and be accepted. Without hesitation, children learn through observation, and in pristine Yoruba culture, elder are the learning yardstick or mirror through which children perceive the bitter truth of life. Leadership, they say,is by example, if so,the example recently displayed by all jingoists irrespective of the tribes should be discarded without a waste of time. In the words of the American theologian and author,James Freeman Clark, a politician thinks of the next elections; a statesman of the next generation. We should not be thinking of winning the tribalistic battle, and jeopardise the future of next generation by error of example because we watch you keenly. A typical example of an exceptionally nationalistic federalist, Awolowo can be quoted in one of his writings in 1967....if a war against the East (tribe) becomes a necessity, it must be agreed to unanimously by the remaining units of the Federation .Being interested in the unity of Nigeria, he gave an invaluable advice that ended the civil war in 1970 as a result,he was misconstrued and named a tribalist. On this ground, the other race including their elites employ it to wichthunt our generation. A fi oro ya oro kii je ki oro tan nile ( meaning- paying evil back in his own coins becomes a permanent condition). And condition becomes permanent, when you become blind to the truth. Looking at the legacy left behind, it will be grave perfidy to Awolowo to fight others from tribalistic points of view. I refuse bluntly thisshow of shame out of sheer perversity. Thinking; I am polemic in my write-up, it has become expedient at this juncture to echo a quote of that great Indian nationalist, Mahatma Ghandi that an error does not become truth by reason of multiplied propaganda, nor does truth become error because nobody sees it . am peckily aware that it is a normal jigger-pockery going on in all tribes. No, it is abnormal to fight injustice with injustice. Let us show good example to other tribes for the purpose of our children and generation not yet unborn because(to re-echo ) children learn through observation . COMMENT - DAPO AJANLEKOKO IN RESPECT TO MY PREVIOUS POST. @Adegboyega Richard Awelewa, I must commend you on this beautiful write-up despite its polemic nature on Yoruba freedom fighters and as you may know already, we are impervious to all arrowheads, fires and brim-stones. This is a beautiful piece and I could tell it was written in impromptu as a rejoinder to whatever either one of (us) Adeyinka Grandson, Merrs Moses Oduntan, Tokunbo AremoOdua or I wrote this morning and I know with certainty that it has got to be one of our pieces! I know you are a friend and I appreciate that you have come forward to express your feeling how you see it! But telling us to leave Igbos alone when they are bent and determined to subvert everything about Yoruba’s interest is the main reason I may be thinking that you have got no clues of present Nigeria’s fragile and frail tribal relationship! Yoruba ni Ishu eni ni mu ni towo bo epo, translates to “it is one’s yam that makes one to dip hands into palm oil! It is Igbos that indeed gave us the invaluable opportunity to profile them. According to a flurries and a series of polls put out there to get back some feedbacks from Igbo tribe about how they have perceived their sons and daughters’ prevalent criminality in Yorubaland? The sheer number of feedbacks extracted from Igbo respondents and their mind-bogglingly responses portend such a bleak and bad omen for Yorubaland. (89) percent of Igbo respondents supported Igbo’s criminality in Yorubaland. (7.5) percent of Igbo respondents are indifferent to Igbo’s criminality in Yorubaland. (3.5) percent of Igbo respondents opposed Igbo’s criminality in Yorubaland. This is why I concluded from the polls that majority of Igbos are crooks. The main reason why Igbos play on the intelligence of Yorubas and you people foolishly condone is because they travel to villages in December not for any nasty celebration because there is nothing pretty but to rub minds and re-strategize ploys and stratagems to hijack government in Yorubaland! I respect you very much, because I know you mean no harm and you have got to know that whatever befalls eyes befalls noses. We are in here together and I want a nation that works and holds prospects for our future generations! Your admonition should be Igbos leave Yorubas alone. I am in my forefathers territory and Igbos can go back to their Biafran land I could care less about them!
