A SENSE OF PERSPECTIVE - The preoccupation with politics is our collective scapegoat - the real issue is the failure to address our economics and the resultant politics of divide and conquer that is manifest all over. When the government makes sure that it pays the Russians before making sure that the basis concerns of Jamaicans who can least afford to pay are dealt with clearly shows the misplace set of priorities at play. Cuba on the other hand has had it debt arrangements cancelled with a new set of negotiations in place for the further development of the Cuban economy. Jamaica is replete with an agenda of helter skelter mismanagement that is the result of a lack of visionary leadership that put the appropriate priorities in place. Jamaica is suffering from a level of neglect apparent from not knowing what to do. There is a difference between having the common touch and being too commonplace to the extent that every issue that you can clearly look has not been considered for the best available solutions. Negril break water project, the highway project, the maintenance of sanitation, the poorly run health care facilities, the pursuit of gambling as the salvation of the hospitality industry, the list is exhaustive at the shortsightedness manifest in the administration of Jamaica. Now the draconian price increases on the people least able to afford to pay as the mandate of the hidden imperial masters agenda without any check and balance for an independent country. The Caymans, Turks and Cacaos, and Bermuda who are still protectorates do not have these issues of such poor administration. The reality is that everyone has issues that have to be addressed but the degree to which Jamaica has regressed show a serious level of ignorance at the highest levels that deny what needs to be addressed. You cannot be buying international capital at four times the going rate and seek to be patting your self on the back for the perceived accomplishment of exuberance of misguided adolescence. It is the failure to address the inherent draconian policy initiatives that is at the root of the cause of the persistent capital flight that Jamaica is experiencing. Robert Mugabe found out almost too late that the issues is that your currency has to have stability for any plans at governance to have any possibility of real and sustaining effect and so he made the US dollar the interim currency abandoning the worthless paper that the Bank of Zimbabwe was printing. Now the real potential exists for a basket of currencies to provide the basis for an future stability. Jamaica needs leadership not evident and until that is acquired then there will only be more deterioration of the standard of living for a country that has been a import substitution model and can only continue to be so for the future relying on the outstanding characteristics that defines the Jamaican experience.
