A SIMPLE THING YOU CAN DO TO HELP OTHERS..... I do this every year. I purchase a bunch of the one-size-fits-all stretch knit gloves (This year I found them for $1 a pair at Michaels Store and with a coupon .40 - .50 cents a pair). I keep a bag of the gloves in my car at all times. When I see someone who needs gloves, I stop and give them a pair. An elderly woman waiting for a bus, a homeless man, a young mother who cant afford gloves for her children. Does it change a life? No. But it is a small act of kindness that costs you less than a cup of coffee and brings a small amount of comfort to someone who needs it. Yes. I also carry rolls of dense foam rubber, the type used as mattress pads or for furniture cushions. A thin layer, 1 inch or more, is perfect. I cut them into approx. 40 x 80 inch pieces (works for up to a 6 foot tall person), roll them up, tie with a rope and pass those out to the homeless who cant get into shelters. That small cushion helps keep them off the ground and a little warmer. The rolls are small and light weight enough to carry where they go. Purchase a pack of inexpensive socks and pass out clean pairs of socks. Cans of soup with pull tops. Knit hats. Think about something you can do to help others. Keep the supplies in your car. Pass out the supplies and the gift of caring.
