A STORY ABOUT ONE OF OUR RESCUE DOGS! MANY PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT - TopicsExpress

A STORY ABOUT ONE OF OUR RESCUE DOGS! MANY PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT RESCUES DO DIFFERENTLY THEN THEIR LOCAL SHELTER. THEY ALSO DONT UNDERSTAND WHY RESCUES DOGS COST MORE THAN THOSE IN THEIR LOCAL SHELTER. I HOPE THIS STORY HELPS EXPLAIN RESCUES TAKE THE DOGS THE SHELTERS KILL! (or at least Foxy Doxy Dachshund Rescue does! We take all breeds not just Dachshunds! ) TODAY IS A HUGE MILESTONE FOR MR. NOAH! ONE YEAR ALIVE AFTER BEING DEEMED THE DEAD DOG IN THE BASKET A man posted my information and details about my rescue as a fraud and that I had a dead dog I was raising money for! It was absurd but got Noah more attention thank you sir for getting us so much more awareness for neglected animals! Noah is in my lap right now all snuggled up as I tell his story! For those who dont know he was found in the front yard of Amy Russo who lived out in the sticks of Squaw Valley! Amy who deals with rattle snakes constantly thought he was a snake in the bushes! Luckily she stopped and looked before she shot! Once she realized it was not a snake she wasnt sure what he was! As you can tell by the photo he was in very bad shape (nearly dead)! She contacted a rescue Noahs Ark aka Kay Nelson who helped her get him to a vet and receive care! Janice Adams was then contacted and she text me a picture! It did not even take a second for me to see him and know I had to TAKE HIM! Once we got more info and found that he did want to eat and his blood work under the circumstances was ok he got to be released! He had a missing bottom jaw, no teeth to hold his tongue in, eye infections, ear infections, he was dehydrated, emaciated and had a heart murmur! Thanks as always to Jacquie Mize-Bacorn who snatched him right up from the vet and took him home till I could get to Fresno! We have taken in a few dogs who were in bad shape also and we lost them within about a month! Lars made it 17 days, Darla who lived 31 days. Noah did give us a scare approximately two weeks after we got him here but HE HAS BEEN DOING GREAT SINCE! We got him neutered, he lost the one and only tooth he had! Anyone who meets him and holds him gets the Noah experience this guy just melts into you! He is often with us at Petsmart in San Luis Obispo and gets many visitors! Thanks to all of those who helped him get to where he is today! He is a poster child for our rescue! We want the ones no one else does. We want the ones the shelters deem not adoptable! Noah has been worth all the time and effort to get him where he is today! We still do not have an age estimate other than over 5 and under 10. We do KNOW HE IS ONE WONDERFUL DOG WHO IS A FIGHTER AND LOVE BUG! Thanks little man for all the love and always being here to snuggle with mom and keep me sane!
