A Sapphire Ringright Out Of A Fairy Tail I have always loved - TopicsExpress

A Sapphire Ringright Out Of A Fairy Tail I have always loved sapphire, and I was so excited to have a sapphire ring, one of my favorite pieces of jewelry come to the worlds attention recently in such a fairy tale way. You see, Prince William gave Kate Middleton a sapphire ring when the royal couple got engaged. A sapphire ring is made with a sapphire, obviously. Sapphires are the blue cousins if you will, of ruby. Ruby and sapphire are the same material, the mineral corundum. Corundum is the second hardest gemstone after diamond. Red corundum is known as ruby while all other colors are referred to as sapphire. Some think blue is the classic sapphire color, and the prized Kashmir and Burmese sapphires have a deep blue that is intense and velvety. But sapphires are actually found in a wide range of colorsand it makes for a big variety when you are shopping for the ideal sapphire ring. Yellow sapphires are on the lighter side and make a nice sapphire ring. Hower, I am drawn to a sapphire ring that boasts a rarer color, like the hard to find purple sapphire. Maybe even a green sapphire. Another reason a sapphire ring appeal to me so much is the legend of sapphire. You see, sapphire is the birthstone for those who are born in September, which I am. Its also regarded as the stone for the Taurus in the Zodiac and it is said that if a Taurus wears a sapphire ring, it will protect he or she at all times. So Im protected from harm with my sapphire ring! (right?) In the past, sapphire ring was also believed to protect you against evil spirits. Sapphire rings were so powerful, they would continue protecting the wearer even after being passed on to another person. Over time, the sapphire has stood for truth, sincerity, and faithfulness in relationships. Maybe thats what inspired Prince William to give a sapphire. It might make for a truly happy ending indeed. If you are shopping for a quality sapphire ring, or any other fine jewelry or collectible, there is simply no finer place than Eagle National Mint. I highly recommend shopping for a sapphire ring there.
