A Simple Message Nothings complicated about the cross, And Gods redemption plan; The message is so pure and simple Even a child can understand. It doesnt take a learned theologian, An intellectual, or a degree, To comprehend what took place On that old rugged tree; For the Truth is not a complex one, As to some it doth appear, Its not entangled or confused, But, direct and very clear. God gave His only begotten Son To pardon and set free, And each precious drop of blood Was shed for you and me. It doesnt take a bible scholar To explain conviction; A soul brought low by sin and guilt Experiences the affliction. As God forgives, revealing Christ, Making the sinner whole, That new and glorious life imparted Is felt within the soul. But, to all who reject and believe not, This Truth is concealed, Such as with those who questioned The blind man healed; Miraculously touched, he understood, For his spirit was set free, And the answer he gave was simple: I once was blind, but now I see. Its A Simple Message And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)
