A Story From Sudan It was the middle of hot night in summer, when Amna woke up to the sound of a little cat moaning of hunger. At first she thought it would be a burglar. Amanas little heart grew softer. So she ran into the kitchen and opened the fridge to get the little cat some milk. When the nine years old girl brought the milk ,the little cat was gone. She looked everywhere for her new friend but she could not find it. Unfortunately when Amna got up next morning, she saw her younger brother Ahmed playing with the same cat she found yesterday. A fight broke out between Amna and her brother. Their mother who works as a school teacher rushed into the room. Ahmed cried for help. He said that I found the cat before Amna ,so it should be mine. Mother said let your younger brother have the cat.Amna felt a little bit disappointed but she remembered what her teacher taught about being selfless and how make people around us more happier. She had the feeling that she is more happier because she made her little brother more glad. On her way to home from school ,Amna saw a blind man trying to cross over the street. She went and helped him. Most of her classmates called her Amna the ediot. She came home crying badly .When her father saw her, he called her to come and sit with him. He asked what was wrong with her. She replied that her classmates made fun of her when she helped a blind man to cross the street. He put his hand on her cheeks and said dont cry my little angel. What you did, is a big proof that you are compassionate. Moreover, people who show compassion are more stronger than people who make fun of other people. Amna smiled widely ,kissed her father and ran to her room to do her prayer .Then she wrote her diaries and went to sleep. By Mousab Abdulazeez Alameen
