“A Streetcar Named Desire” was brilliant (and not at all cold inside Screen 1 at the Odeon). Pic is of Gillian Anderson as the doomed Blanche as she spirals downwards to disaster. I read the play circa 1963 but I discovered I’d got its plot totally mixed up with “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”. I understand both plays better now. I am so proud. Successfully installed SPD pedals on my MTB (pic) and fixed the cleats in my bike shoes and made all the necessary adjustments. Those who are familiar with my general incompetence and hamfistedness when I attempt anything that requires manual skill or dexterity will know what an achievement this is. I did look at a couple of instructional videos on youtube first, though. And finally: spectacular rainbow from the back garden after shower interrupted my final lawn mowing of the year. I’m off now to look for the pot of gold.
