Ecclesiastes 3:1,7 says, “There is a time for everything … A time to be silent and a time to speak.” This is A TIME TO SPEAK for Christians in America. We need a regiment of AFA partners who are praying and committed to electing Godly men and women in state and federal races all across our nation on Election Day, November 4. For millions of people in other parts of the world, voting is just a dream. Still, many Americans with the right to vote are not acting on that right. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as many as 29 percent of Christians were not registered to vote in 2008 – that’s 60 million people! There are 90 million Christians who are eligible to vote, and 39 million of them do not vote in any given election. Imagine the impact Christians in America can have on the future of our nation if we all applied biblical principles to every aspect of our lives – including committing to vote and to vote wisely. As Christ’s representatives here on earth, Christians have a mandate to be “salt and light” in our culture (Matthew 5:13-16, ESV). We have the opportunity to positively impact the direction of our country, the men and women who lead it, and the policies they enact. Ultimately, our dependence is upon God. We also understand that by standing together with God’s help, we can make a difference.
