A Thousand Days A thousand days ago my life changed forever. - TopicsExpress

A Thousand Days A thousand days ago my life changed forever. It was a thousand days ago that I stood in a fog shrouded park overlooking a calm ocean, hands tightly clasped with the love of my life reciting my marriage vows. The last line reads “. . . so today I make this covenant to you before God, family and friends to be your faithful and loving husband, until time makes history of us.” I remember wondering what the next few days, months, years would be like being married (especially in light of the fact that I had been single for 51 years). A thousand days later, I could not have imagined how wonderful it would be having someone so warm, caring and loving to share all of life’s joys … and sorrows with. For that I am grateful. A thousand days ago, I became the step dad to three amazing individuals, each uniquely different and each uniquely beautiful. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside them as they graduate from college, get promoted to management, explore their faith, buy a new car, get married, start a new career and mourn the loss of their grandpa. For that I am grateful. A thousand days ago, I “officially” became part of an amazing extended family. The love, acceptance and respect that I have been shown is so very humbling. For that I am grateful. I am reminded of Psalm 84 which says … “better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere.“ If one day in God’s court is better than the last thousand days, it will be pretty sweet indeed. So my warmest “thousand day” anniversary wishes go out to Lori … my beautiful - beautiful, my best friend and my most favorite person in this world.
