A True Love Story by Mujib Abdur Rahman Nope, no Bollywood or Hollywood story. I did say ‘True’ love story. Open up the newspaper, log onto a website and you see all these clebreties breaking up, demanding huge sum of money, we see in our own societies where marriages are breaking up, boyfriends killing their girlfriends etc and it seems never ending... where’s the true love? About 1400 years ago, actually a bit more than that, there lived a widow by the name of Khadijah bint Khuwaylid. Khadijah (RadhiaAllahuAnha; May Allah be pleased with her), was the first wife of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhiwasallam;Peace and Blessings be upon him). She was the mother to six of their children. A successful business- woman. She was well known amongst the people of Makkah. They were married for 25 years. Not a single time, a single time, did they have any marriage problems! (Allahu Akbar! Allah is Great). One night Khadijah’s husband came to her in hurry. He seemed to have gone through an incredible experience. ‘Cover me, cover me’ he said. She wrapped a shawl around him and sat him down. As a loving wife, she held him close to her and asked what was up. The Prophet Muhammad told her that an angel came to him and told him to ‘read’. The Prophet couldnt read. He was asked again and once again. Then the angel said that he Muhammad was a prophet and messenger of Allah! He was really frightened by this sudden ordeal. Her response? “Allah would never humiliate you, for you are good to your relatives, you are true to your word, you help those who are in need, you support the weak, you feed the guest and you answer the call of those who are in distress.” Khadijah was always by the side of her husband. I cannot do justice by writing this article about her. She was truly a special woman. Shaykh Abdul Nasir Jangda has a really good video on YouTube about this story. youtube/watch?v=vHTPLFUwEl4
