A WORD TO THE WISE Sometimes in life, people tell lies to some guys and smile. Better the devil know! What people say about you is not interesting, even if it oftimes hits the nail on the head. Some might speak well of you or pass judgment on you, be it negative or positive, it does not count indeed. Do follow your conscience, whatever it says are the innermost thoughts which reveal the naked truth. You are the only one who possesses such a truth, for you only know and can reveal it. However, it might show itself through an individual’s attitude or behavior (towards the others) but it is not always the case; the previous argument is no set rule! Am I good, kind, wicked, this or that? Are you? Me, myself and I know whether I am good or not! Somebody else does not! Yet, I can never tell whether you are good or bad, this or that. You know without any doubt, but I do not! Is your modesty a true one? Isn’t it a false modesty? What people think, guess, believe, maintain you are, may not be what you are, but what you know you are, is what you actually are. ‘Know thyself’ and the other one knows himself. You praise me to the skies today, I tell a pack of lies the next day and blow my own horn. I gave you my heart, you take it as a toy in a child’s hands, without careful care of it, you break in one go, and tear it to shreds. Did you do so out of spite? You only can answer! Will you answer be appropriate and sincere? Answer! You do not need to play for time! Don’t you know that you are parents’ pride and joy? The Beneficent recommends you to obey, respect, and serve them right. Put your shoulder to the wheel to bring home the bacon. As beacon of hope, you should fend for yourself and rise to the world and be on the right track. Go at work hammer and tongs while making every endeavor to nurture your soul with goodness. Be clear-sighted and lucid to set goodness apart from evil and understand that the characteristics of both give sense to your life with its fleeting succession of joys and sorrows. You ask for the floor just for the sake, and when you have it you jabber, stutter and give others a reason to mutter. Why do you take the floor when you are quite sure that the words you utter are silver? You have an alternative; it is gold, it is silence or mute prayer. As time goes, give the most of yourself even if you are left on the shelf and make every endeavor to chase away self-absorbed propensity. By so doing, you run into your soul mate, your spiritual guide who spots your failings and fosters your spirit and inclines you to perfection, knowing that you will never get to it. Thus, you need to set a goal to be the change you want to see in the world and fly high. Do not let anybody be a hindrance to your most cherished professional ambition. You shall be passionate about the career you intend to take up for your lifetime or even for some time. Your daily profession shall be a vocation for the priesthood. You worship through working or vice-versa. An idle brain is the devil’s workshop; rely on yourself but leave it to God for whatever fate holds in store for you. It is only by dedicating yourself to working hard and losing yourself in the service of others that you find yourself. Your personal hygiene needs to be cared of much, for cleanliness is next to godliness. Nonetheless, if the human body requires a hygienic concern for its physical health, the human soul solely encompasses the purity of all the parts of the organic matter. Sticks and stones may break my bones (but words will never harm me). Backbiting, meanness and mean tricks will only kill me or put a nail in my coffin, for my body is a handful of dust, from which I am made of and to which I am going to return. Why are you becoming superstitious, afraid, and cowardly when see or catch a glimpse of a dust devil? Are you afraid of yourself, and running away from yourself? Will you find a refuge? Yes, you will! But exactly where? Can you be safe from danger, from the devil, from man? Avoid wandering like a lost soul; you had better go from pole to pole, even if you are on the dole, so as to purify what makes of you what you are and what you are not. It is an everlasting mission that you shall accomplish before you perish without any fetish. Thou shall achieve such an aim by meditation after a long secluded life. From there on, you are a secretive person, not because you are shut in or stay inside but because the light of reason and the Divine Savior nurtures your natural soul and elevates to the rank of His elect. Human existence along with the soul does have a significance and sense as well, even when man lives alone on earth for centuries. Your parents, friends and spiritual guide might all be a voice in the wilderness when they try show the right way, for they are bound to go astray. Can you guide when you lose your bearings; you rather contemplate yourself before you give up the ghost. When you point an accusing finger at somebody, just look at the direction of the other four fingers left. Then, my daily concern is to heal my soul as the most important “thing” of my body constitution which conditions the articulations of the limbs. Knowledge is power. You can acquire it even when you are in the shower, for a bit of it is bookish, for most of what you read is foolish and impious, coming from the mouth of a verbose person. Some have a pain in their guts when they see you give yourself airs. You might be well-versed in your area of expertise, be a walking dictionary or have an encyclopedic background on different domains, you are limited and narrow-minded because you deny the existence of the Almighty. You will always be in a high state of anxiety, wander around like a soul in torment. Your words are just based on an open book, the closing of which lead you to grope in the dark. The Holy Scripts are literature, but it does not call the talents of the literati, but rather the wisdom of an enlightened person. Keep calling into question what you even guess right. Develop your communicative competence and be an articulate speaker, act wittingly and serve your people and your community. Open your heart and your hands as well then give without ostentation, for you just stretch the arm when give but you do not perform the action, so better pray for the one receiving. The more you give, the more you have and the closer to goodness your soul is. You lie to your teeth or take the sheen off truth and wisdom. Like a she-devil, crouching in the shadows, you whisper to another fake your obscenities and lie boldly. The one you are talking to know a wrinkle or two but they feel hatred towards me and is eager to put a blot on my escutcheon. Stop sailing under false colors. A friend in need is a friend indeed. I do not see you very often, even if you’ve got scads of money or lack a dough for a candy. I stay away and be a stay-at-home to give you time for silence and get mine to avoid causing a disturbance. You mean to me more than a buzz, an email or visit because I need to connect my soul to yours, a mission of which the distance does not trouble. Open books, thumb through them, dwell on the content of any science but do not get lost in it. Do play the game but do not let the game play you. Live your life but do not spoil it; do not jeopardize it for a dollar bill. Your life is worth what is made of it, then make of it what it should be; do not live it the way you feel it but live it the way it should be lived. Be a good leader, a role model and deserve a gold medal. Be obliging to cure your people of their vices. Lead without breeding any feeling of despair and hatred. Be a model of justice and uprightness while refraining from abusing power. Do not deceive your people to have their votes; they will not give them to you at the Doomsday. Go to and fro in an endeavor to minister to their needs. Early to bed, for you to sleep as much as possible and shun harebrained ideas and early to rise so as catch the warm for the benefit of your community, the raison d’être of your power. Avoid being a self-sufficient leader without grey eminence who is always surprised by his fall. You might be prostrate with grief, but it is not a reason to vent your anger on somebody else. Keep your faith, for sorrow is dulled by the passage of time. You have been created in suffering, which substantiates your first cry at birth, the meaning of the mission on earth. Some will cry their eyes out when you pass away. Do not miss to remember the dead in your prayers. Worship and be psychologically poised ready to be borne to your grave, you are a living corpse. You cannot sow the seeds of doubt in me; I believe I can take up the challenge and make my contribution to the development of my community, then my country. You shall follow close behind Nelson Mandela, and endure the deeds of those putting a spoke in your wheel, they will subscribe to your opinion of doing positive things the day they see the light. You fool me to betray me; I chalk it up to experience. Once bitten twice shy, I would rather die single than sully my love. She walked past me, with a dazzlingly beautiful face, but it is all pie in the sky; let me shy away from you not to have illusion about a better page of my life. Be you a religious person, male or female, who makes converts, you can slump down if you promote your own cause. You need to spread the Word embedded in the Scripts. Do not promise the disciples or followers the moon, for it does not belong to you. Never think you are perfect; when you pledge your word, keep it. Advocate the support to the needy and convince people into pledging money to charity. Love your fellow, wish them fortune, give them a helping hand and expect nothing back. Just do it for God’s sake, so do not get frustrated if they tell you to go and jump in the lake. Today you are as happy as a sand boy, a few days later you in a rage. Both states define your nature as a human being, and as a sinner. However, you shall not bear a grudge against your fellow. You might not talk to person; you can be at daggers drawn with someone, but you shall not have a pain in your guts when you them. Be optimistic, self-reliant and humble and let nobody throw you into great confusion and despair. There are better days ahead but move heaven and earth to fulfill your mission; do not adopt a wait-and-see attitude. Tomorrow is now; you will never be able to catch up some opportunities you have missed in life. Think positive all time and get down to work.
