A WOW -- THAT CAN LAST FOREVER (the most fantastic conversation Ive ever had....) February, 14, 1988. Program participant Al A. meets a woman at the Option Institute during the kickoff of the Advanced Mentor Training Program. Her name is Cyndy. Four months later, at the conclusion of the Empowerment Program at the Institute, Al and Cindy get married in the Option House – Samahria and I performed the wedding ceremony. Flash forward almost 26 YEARS Al, in 2012/2013, began taking another series of our personal growth programs – and has diligently kept doing Option Process Dialogues from home every month (I had have the honor to be his mentor). Please read what he just wrote to me after our last dialogue session on a week ago. Love to all of you on staff and all those sweet friends who support this work in the world -- Bears Barry Neil Kaufman (Option Institute Co-Founder & Author of 12 books, including “Happiness Is A Choice). Hi, Bears: Im bubbling with joy and want to share it with you. So, Ive been home this weekend and I followed-up on going after the question that we left on at the end of our most recent dialogue (regarding my tendency to avoid conflict with my daughter). This morning, I had an incredible conversation with her about my desire to be more direct and authentic with her and shared my concerns and discomforts. In addition, I covered WANTING TO KNOW what shes thinking and feeling INSTEAD OF ASSUMING that I know. We also began to discuss the differences between living in a world of S-R [Stimulus-Response] versus S-B-R [Stimulus-BELIEF-Response – as taught at the Institute]. IT WAS THE MOST FANTASTIC AND WONDERFUL CONVERSATION IVE EVER HAD WITH HER! I could feel myself climbing the mountain as we spoke! A very beautiful moment for me. Loving you Bears for the endless encouragement and persistence you deliver in your teachings, Al [Photo Notation: While hiking with my honey in our beloved Switzerland, I snapped this photo...a bit like Als mountain]
