A Word for Today Treasure Knowledge "Wise people treasure knowledge, but the babbling of a fool invites disaster." -Proverbs 10:14 (NLT) Readers are leaders, and God also says in His Word that ‘my people perish because of lack of knowledge’, it is a common saying that what you don’t know won’t hurt you, but that is a great fallacy as it even negates the Word of God. Proverbs 19:2 says ‘Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge’. Knowledge is power and can bring deliverance in various areas of our life. The word of God says that it is wisdom for us to get knowledge and acting otherwise will lead to disaster. The ultimate source of knowledge is through God Himself, through His Word. Job 37:16 ‘Do you know how the clouds are balanced [and poised in the heavens], the wonderful works of Him Who is perfect in knowledge? {Emphasis ours} We need to be diligent in the study of His word, in order to get knowledge that will help us live a victorious life. We also need to read Christian books that will edify us and empower us to live according to God’s will. We need to subject ourselves and discipline ourselves, we live in a very busy environment, but nevertheless, we need to make out time to study, some have not read a single book from cover to cover since they left school, our minds is like a battery and if we don’t use it, it will run down. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:15 ‘Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth’.
