A bad carpenter? The Narendra Modi government had pleaded to The Supreme Court of India to expedite corruption cases against elected representatives. The SC did not allow it and had said why preference should be given only to a few cases when many cases are pending. In another case the SC has ruled that the PM should exercise prudence in selecting his council of ministers and avoid people having cases against them. The ordinary citizens feeling is that if courts deliver judgements in a time bound manner the PM can avoid mistakes in keeping people away from the government who have false cases against them. Moreover if as per the first ruling preference is to be given in all cases it would be a relief to the plaintiffs who actually brought the cases. Delay in cases are often said to be the fallout of not filling up vacancies in the courts. No one expects judgement from a vacant court, but our (we Indians) Lord what are the filled up seats doing?
